Herding Instinct test - May 30, 2009

Wayne passed his Herding Instinct test with flying colours on 3 Barbados sheep under evaluator Heather Forbes. These are her comments: "Very good working dog. Loads of interest and very responsive. Would make a good working / trial dog." While preferring to work at Belgian speed ... MACH 2 or 3 ... Wayne is very biddable and shows distinct wearing abilities. He is respectful of the stock, although not above giving a slow poke a nudge with his shoulder, and is very aware of and responsive to the handler.

In March, Wayne's lovely sister Charm and Kathy Derrick went to Louisville KY, where Charm went BISS under breeder/judge Linda Robey.

In May, in a 2 week workup to the American National Specialty, Wayne and Feist racked up 5 group placements ... 2 Group 4ths and a Group 2nd for Wayne, and 1 Group 4th and a Group 2nd for Feist. Thanks to judges Ron Mahon, Virginia Lyne, Tom Nesbitt, Donna Conod and Lois Wilson.
